Terms of Use
Effective: July 7, 2026
1. Informational purposes only
PedalPolicy ("the Site") publishes general information about electric bicycle laws, land access rules, and purchase incentive programs. The Site does not provide legal, financial, or professional advice, and nothing on the Site creates an attorney-client or advisory relationship. Content is a starting point for your own research, not a substitute for it.
2. No warranty; accuracy limitations
All content is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, currentness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Laws, land-manager policies, and incentive programs change frequently and sometimes without public notice. Each data page displays a review date. Review dates, change histories, and any similar indicators describe our editorial process only; they are not a certification, audit, or warranty of accuracy, and information may be outdated or incorrect at any time. You are solely responsible for confirming current rules with the relevant government authority, land manager, or program administrator before riding, purchasing, or taking any other action.
3. Assumption of risk
Riding a bicycle or electric bicycle involves inherent risks, including serious injury and death, and legal risks including fines, citations, and equipment confiscation where rules are violated. By using the Site you accept sole responsibility for where and how you ride, for compliance with all applicable laws and land-manager rules, and for all consequences of your riding and purchasing decisions.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PedalPolicy and its operators, authors, and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site, including personal injury, property damage, fines, citations, denied rebate applications, or lost expected savings, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. If any liability is nonetheless found, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the Site, which is zero.
5. Third-party links and programs
The Site links to government sites, program administrators, and other third parties. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or how they administer their programs. Incentive amounts, eligibility, and funding are determined solely by program administrators; we have no authority over any application or award.
6. Affiliate disclosure
Some pages may contain affiliate links to retailers. If you purchase through such a link, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence the data we publish, and we accept no payment from any government program, agency, or land manager we cover.
7. Corrections
We correct errors when we learn of them and log changes publicly in the changelog. If you find an error, please contact us. Reporting an error does not create any obligation or liability on our part.
8. Acceptable use and intellectual property
You may use and share the Site's content for personal, non-commercial purposes with attribution. You may not republish substantial portions of the Site, scrape it for redistribution, or present its content as your own. Underlying government data remains public domain.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time; the effective date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.
