PedalPolicy

Methodology

Every data page on PedalPolicy is generated from a structured record that cites a primary source: a state statute, a land manager's published policy, or an official program page. We do not source data from other blogs or aggregator posts.

Each record carries a last-verified date, shown on the page. Records are re-verified on a rolling schedule: rebate program statuses monthly, laws and access rules quarterly, and immediately when a change is reported to us.

Review dates

Each data page shows a "last reviewed" date next to its source link. That date reflects the most recent time our editorial process examined the record, which may include cross-referencing the linked primary source, comparing multiple published reports, or applying updates reported to us. The date describes our process; it is not a certification or warranty of accuracy. Records with older review dates are flagged internally for re-examination on a rolling schedule.

Changes are recorded in each page's change history and in the site-wide changelog. Pages whose records are incomplete are excluded from the site automatically rather than published with gaps. Pages whose records have not yet been verified against their primary source carry a visible DRAFT banner and are excluded from search indexing until verification is complete.
