Common questions
How does the $225 discount actually work?
It comes off the price at checkout at a participating retailer. The shop verifies Colorado residency (ID or proof of address dated within 3 months), has you sign a one-page affidavit (Form DR 0514), and claims the credit on its own tax return. You file nothing.
Is there an income requirement?
No. The state credit has no income test; any Colorado resident can use it once per calendar year. Denver's separate $675 voucher is income-qualified, and the two stack to $900 off.
Which retailers offer it?
Only retailers registered with the Colorado Department of Revenue can apply the discount, so not every shop participates. Ask before you buy, or check the CDOR credit page. The credit runs through 2032.
Is the Colorado E-Bike Tax Credit still available?
As of 2026-07-30, the program status is: Open. Funding cycles change quickly; check the official program page.
